Community Care Resources' mission is to provide comprehensive treatment foster care, and mental health services to children, adolescents, and families regardless of national origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or disability.
The purpose of treatment is to provide a stable and normalizing family environment for children and adolescents to receive appropriate mental health, medical and educational services to become more adaptive and emotionally healthy. The goal of the agency's mission is to successfully integrate youth into permanent home situations to become productive members of society.
Our partner company, Community Care Programs (CCP), is a Wisconsin-certified behavioral outpatient clinic. CCP provides services to a population of youth who have severe emotional and behavioral concerns. Both CCR and CCP are embedded in the concepts and practice of Trauma-Informed Care, providing evidence-based therapies with measurable outcome-based goals. Both offer a broad base of services to youth to accomplish the mission goals of improved personal adaptation and functioning in a community-based setting, stability in care, and permanence through treatment and stability in the home and community environment.
CCR and CCP demonstrate the combined ability to maintain special needs youth in a community-based setting as a continuum of care alternative to more restrictive and higher levels of care. This translates into effective community-based services in a normalized foster care environment and significant financial savings to the state of Wisconsin, Wisconsin counties, and Wisconsin taxpayers.
I am often asked why I have worked with Community Care Resources for so long. As much as I would like to have a lengthy and profound explanation, it is pretty simple. I stay because of the people. For over 25 years, I have had the privilege to work with and for some of the best people in the industry. I thoroughly enjoy the children and families we serve, the foster parents we license and train, the other social workers and therapists, and the office and administrative staff.
The employees here create an environment of support, understanding, and compassion. The work is challenging, the work ethic is high, and the support to manage stressful situations is incredible. Community Care Resources is dedicated to providing the best care possible to children and families, and the people playing each role in that journey are of equal value and importance. I hope to continue with CCR for many years to come.
