My mom is my angel. I honestly don’t think we’d be fostering without her.We were told by CCR during the first phone call that we’d need a strong support system of family and friends. We have that.Call me lucky or call me blessed, my mom is 15 minutes away. I rarely call her for help or a break.Because she just knows when we need her. We don’t have biological kids of our own. We always talked about fostering “someday”.Now we are helping two girls 6 and 8.Sometimes my mom comes after school to hang out. She'll read to the girls, let me have a minute after work, or help prep dinner.I'm home by 3pm which has worked out well. My husband works from home, so her help gives him an extra hour or two to finish his day as well. What I love most is this:She never asks questions about the case.Never asks about their bio family.Never pushes for details she shouldn't know. She just respects the space we're in.🥰My mom is my rock and our foster daughters love her to pieces. So do I.❤🌞When you're ready to learn more. I cannot describe how sad it is to watch. The whole world is new to them. They are sisters, ages 7 & 3. Everywhere we go, it's like they have not seen anything before. What's that do? What's that for? Who is that? Why is that? It's not like when my kids were young. This is very different. They've been so extremely neglected and sheltered. This is foster care. These are the kiddos coming in. This is how CCR described it to us on our first call.It is so wrong. It is heartbreaking. That's why me and my husband are here. We can help kids like this. So glad we said yes.
