Community Care Resources is a statewide Wisconsin foster care agency committed to responding to the effects of childhood trauma. CCR foster parents provide a healing, loving, structured home environment for kids with heightened emotions and behaviors. On average, 45-60 kids and youth are referred to CCR each month from counties across the state.
CCR is one of the largest private foster care agencies in Wisconsin. We currently have foster parents in 35 county locations and over 100 children in care. Our foster parents use trauma-informed care techniques and principles to care for children ages 2-18 and sibling groups. All families are receiving 24/7 support and weekly in-home visits.
After three decades of caring for neglected and abused children, there is one thing we know for sure – the key to helping a child recover and heal from trauma is a loving, stable family environment with foster care support services in place. In addition, children with trauma histories require more than good parenting skills. It takes a team to help kids heal. Our staff is here to help.
Each of our five supervisors have been dedicated to CCR, foster families, and kids for over 22 years. All have Master's degrees in social work, and all five are extremely supportive of their case managers and foster parents. In addition, our Clinical Case Managers average an astounding 16 years of employment with CCR. Not only do our staff members stay for years, but our foster parents also follow suit. The first family to be licensed in 1989 still fosters teen girls with us! We are humbled and grateful to work with amazing foster parents from around Wisconsin.
Foster parents receive in-depth trauma-informed care training and continued education. Our team ensures each foster family gets the training necessary to care for children with trauma histories. In fact, upon licensure, 100% of our new foster parents tell us they feel prepared and confident to accept a child or sibling group to their home. In addition, continuing education classes and foster parent support groups are held via Zoom and in person throughout the state.
